Glamping Pods

There are five glamping pods available to stay in here at Higher Culloden Farm. Each of them have their own private shower room and toilet just a short walk away, and have full use of the shared kitchens.

What is a Glamping Pod?

Our glamping pods are essentially large wooden huts, designed specifically to sleep up to four people. All of our glamping pods here at Higher Culloden Farm are custom designed and hand made using locally sourced wood. They measure 4.8m long, 2.4m wide, and are 2.8m high inside, providing a surprising amount of space.

The pods are built with double insulation, including under the floor. This design makes sure that the pods stay cool when it’s hot outside, and then remain warm when the temperature drops.

Inside the Glamping Pods

The french doors lead you into the Glamping Pod where you will find the custom fitted furniture. Inside each pod you will find:

  • Two long benches in the front room and a large shelving unit to store your things. Both benches have storage underneath them with access under the cushions and from the front panels. These benches then convert into two single beds for the evening and the bench cushions can be used as mattresses.
  • A dining table and benches in the back room, including two more shelving units for storage. There is also more storage available underneath of these benches. The table then folds down flat to form a large double bed for the evening. The four large seating cushions fit neatly to form the mattress for the double bed.
  • A tilt and turn window on the back wall of the pod
  • Curtains for the french doors and the back window. These are made from black out material to keep daylight out to help you get a good night’s sleep
  • Two double hooks to hang coats or clothes
  • A small bin
  • A doormat
  • A fire extinguisher
  • A smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm
  • Ceiling hooks in each area to hang lanterns

There isn’t electricity linked up to the pods as we like to promote a ‘back to nature’ experience. Therefore we suggest bringing along a lantern for some light once the sun has gone down. If you don’t have one, you can hire one from us if you prefer. There are device charging lockers available in the kitchens so that phones and tablets can be charged whilst you stay on the farm.

We have put together a quick video guide showing how transform the dining table into the double bed. Visit our Guides and ‘How To’ Videos page to watch.

Outside the Glamping Pods

There is a large decked out outside the front of each pod, perfect for relaxing on or to watch the stars at night.

Every pod has it’s own picnic bench close to the decking. There is a small fire bucket behind each pod, filled with sand, just in case any BBQs get out of hand.

There are BBQs available to hire for your stay, or you can bring your own. Whilst disposable BBQs can be used, we don’t allow then to be used on the decking or directly on the grass, for fire safety reasons. BBQs should never be placed inside the pods (lit or unlit).

There are various other facilities available, including private shower rooms and toilets. Visit our Facilities page to see what is available.
